The 7 Link Challenge

Totally forgot to publish this a few weeks ago, oh well. Enjoy.

Recently, and when I say that I really mean an eternity ago in the web world, Darren Rowse at ProBlogger introduced a 7 Link Challenge. Link 7 posts that fit into 7 themes. Even though I haven’t been blogging long, and have been blogging sporadically at best, I decided to take it.

  • Your first post – The first post I ever wrote was this one, Brand-Yourself.com. Its what got me to start blogging in the first place. It now shows as the 4th post on my current blog, it was “imported” from my old iWeb site, from a time before I started using wordpress.
  • A post you enjoyed writing the mostOld Spice, the Power of all Powerful Things This one was recent, really recent. Enjoyed this the most, because I enjoyed this campaign a ton, simple as that.
  • A post which had a great discussionThe Best Advice This one had 4 or 5 comments on it (pre-Disqus), and about the same number of retweets.  Inspired by a club meeting, its really one of my favorite posts ever.
  • A post  on someone else’s blog that you wish you’d written –I share what I read everyday on twitter, and like most of you out there, I read a lot of blogs. I’ve also come to be known as “The Social Media Guy” in my circle of friends and connections. Whenever someone asks about how to take control of their brand, whether personal or business, there is one post I refer to, Grow Bigger Ears.
  • A post with a title that you are proud of – I suck at titles, and I can honestly say that there is not 1 that I am truly proud of. Its something I’m working on…
  • A post that you wish more people had readSEO basics is another thing that I always get questions about. If more people read this one, I wouldn’t have to deal with answering the same questions over and over again.
  • Your most visited post everOne Cubicle On the topic of personal branding, the reason for starting my blog. This was the most visited ever, with about 50 people coming to take a peak. I’m going to attribute that to the retweets I got, and the comment from Dan Schwabel. I’m probably selling myself a bit short here, but I truly think thats where it came from.
  • What did I learn from doing this? That my titles really blow, that I don’t write enough or with any consistency at all, and that by all definition I’m a poor blogger. But, I am blogging, I am building a “personal brand”, and I’m having a blast doing it. So if you are a reader, I thank you, and if not, I don’t blame you. No worries though, I’m working on it!

There you have it, 7 Link Challenge complete. What are your 7 links?
